Mission

Mission
To transform traditional farming into a modern and a dynamic animal industry as well as enhancing private sector investment in a viable animal industry through efficient and effective animal health services and transfer of technology

Objectives

1. To enhance and maintain a credible animal health status conducive to the animal industry and public health
2. To promote and facilitate production of safe and wholesome food from livestock for domestic and export market
3. To promote optimal utilization of resources for increased productivity and sustainable livestock production system
4. To explore, develop and promote appropriate technologies and new values in animal industries
5. To ensure adherence to animal welfare in all aspects of animal keeping and animal production system

Functions

1. To draw and plan the policy, strategy and Agricultural Development Programme.
2. To undertake the task of monitoring, evaluating and coordinating the implementation of project/ programme which is carried out within or beyond Integrated Agricultural Development Project (IADP).
3. To provide economic analysis services including collecting, analyzing and restoring information /agricultural data scientifically and furnish the outcome to the end users.
4. To formulate and implement references services and research programme and to introduce agricultural management information system.
5. To ensure the participation of Agricultural Ministry  in international programme.
6. Act as one stop agency for the private to get the advice and expertise in Agricultural sector.
